I proceeded to continue working on the animatics and craft out the animatics for the second part of the story. The second part is the part where it is most emphasised on what these "silent heroes" do and it was not the easiest to create. I had a plan on what content goes first and what goes next accordingly but as I listened to the music, the pacing did not fit the initial intended sequence. Initially, during the 2nd part it was that the "watched" content comes first whereas the "mistake" content came after but the positions are switched as it makes more sense this way. It is also more fitting to the music in this sequence.

Instead of sketching the animatics out, I used the coloured 3D model of the office scene to allow viewers to understand the setting more. The use of red and black can suggest a sense of urgency and warning to the audience.

Using the same method of execution as mentioned in previous blog posts, I drew the remaining frame by frame sketches of the characters and paneling with Procreate and import it over to After Effects to do the editing. The process was series of jumping between the two platforms to create the animatics. Lastly, I sync the music in and repeated the process if some scenes were lacking.

Scenes / Render / drawings needed:

  1. Background and foreground render to fit the moving eyeball in between

  2. Frame by frame drawing of eyeball

  3. Frame by frame drawing of hands typing (for mistake scene)

  4. Frame by frame drawing of UI for interactables

  5. Frame by frame drawing of crowding of characters

  6. Frame by frame drawing of characters worried

  7. Frame by frame drawing of Comic panel showing stages of silent heroes' work

  8. Frame by frame drawing of eyes awakening

  9. Frame by frame drawing of hands signifying a fall

  10. Frame by frame drawing of user in a mirror scene

The Frame by frame drawings are drawn in procreate as well as animated there before the import to After Effects to edit and stitch them together. The drawings has green backgrounds and then it will be editing out in After Effects. Here are some examples of the drawings:
