W12 | Formative Assessment

I prepared a presentation deck to explain my project to a new guest lecturer to get his insight and opinions in terms of my project intensions and the method of execution. I explained the project from the intensions, art direction, chosen platform, and interactables to the guest lecturer. Additionally, I showed him the office scene 3D model and the UI design to allow him to visuallise the project better.

The feedback given from the guest lecturer was that my project topic has a sensitive and explicit theme which my art direction did not resonate. He thinks that it lacked the severity of the problem and since it is implemented in a comical style it takes away a lot of its seriousness. He also questioned whether the use of the VR platform was necessary and suggested different ways of implementing the intension of the project into different mediums such as a card game. The idea is to let people draw card randomly and they get terms such as "rape, murder, suicide, etc" on the cards to suggest "events they do not want to see". The idea and feedback given is something to think about and take into consideration. That was the conclusion of the guest review and it opened a different perspective to my project, something to digest.
