I started to fidget around with JS Placement and attempt to start modeling my environment. I started off with following this tutorial with blender 3D about displacing textures, I was stuck on certain area although I’ve already followed one by one on the tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka9VfXXQlLg&t=222s

Being very new to blender, I asked Johnathan and Ronald for help. Johnathan is not very familiar to blender and hence he did not advise me on this matter, but he mentioned that I should model with it with Cinema 4D instead because learning everything from scratch now especially during my final year project is not recommended. I took the advise but out of curiosity, I still wanted to learn how to displace using Blender. I looked for Ronald in Fabrication Lab to learn more on Blender‘s interface as it is very different with Cinema4D. I went back and reflect on whether it’ll be better using blender considering how good the render engine in blender is but, at the end of the day using a software I’m familiar with at the moment will be the best call. I have a long history with ProRender being very grainy and I figured that since ProRender render outcome is always like that, I looked for a fellow classmate for help. Milton, he mentioned that the new Cinema 4D has a denoiser effect added into the software and he also gave me an example of the render outcome with and without the denoiser.

After looking at the outcome, I think that the outcome is very ideal, minimal noise is seen but the light aspect I will need to experiment myself and decide whether to continue using ProRender. If not, I will need to rent the Octane Renderer. Having experience with Octane Renderer, I am confident that the outcome will be much nicer than ProRender.

Initially, I wanted to start modelling my environment but when I was looking at the blank canvas, I can't seem to know where to start. I then started sketching a city scape first before I went and look for the specialists for consultation.
