On this day, an external guest was invited to view our work to feedback on and for me to gain a different perspective. The invited guest was our college's head of Graphic Design. I presented my project idea as per the last slide but changed the platform to Virtual Reality. After presenting, there were several feedback I got from him to consider about.
First off the bat, he mentioned that he liked my project idea as this topic has been rarely discussed about and it was something new. He continued to ask a few questions and I filled him up on the things I did not include in the slides, which include some of my research findings from before on content moderators. From this, I can get a hold of how it is very unclear to a person that as not follow the journey of my progress to understand the story. To add, since my storyboard is still not very detailed, he has little knowledge or its harder to visualise what I'm trying to convey. But he do like the executio method where I wanted to try and incorporate different angle of view such as switching between first person view and third person view. He think that it can be doable and it is something that's not usually practiced but there are certain concerns such as the playback and the view of the users. He mentioned that usually film is done in a way that the director has full control of the film/visual but in my case, I'm giving users the freedom to explore a 360 degree head tilting visual and these aspects where I am the director I have to define it carefully. If not, it will cause confusion to the users. For example, on the video playback part, when users are interacting, how can the music play constantly and not disrupt the interaction of the users, and what if users look a certain direction, will they interpret the story differently?
All in all, these were his concerns on my project and he mentioned that I have to carefully consider little things like this that affects viewers.
